  • Gestation 220 days
  • Number of young: 1
  • Diet: leaves, grass, roots and fruit
  • Lifespan: 16 years plus
  • The female nyala has white stripes on a redish background with no horns
  • The male nyala has shaggy underparts which distinguish him from other antelopes
  • Not a very sociable species
  • Very timid and shy
